           OUTER ANGLES OF A POLYGON

OBJECTIVES

• To understand the outer angles of a polygon.

• To understand the sum of outer angle of a triangle.

• To understand the sum outer angle of quadrilateral.

• To understand the sum of outer angles of n -sided polygon.

• To solve real life examples.

OUTER ANGLES

The angle between a side of a polygon and an extended adjacent side is called outer angle or exterior angle of a polygon.

             

 One Outer angle of triangle

SUM OF INNER ANGLES OF A POLYGON

         The sum of inner angles of a n sided polygon is ( n-2)×180° .

 Any n sided polygon can be divided into n-2 triangles and the Sum of angles is a triangle is 180°.

SUM OF OUTER ANGLES OF A POLYGON

 

The sum of outer angles of any n side d polygon is 360°. 

 The sum of outer angles of various polygons are given below.

        THE SUM OF OUTER ANGLES OF A n SIDED POLYGON IS 360°.
